Photography & Film

Photography and film have been part of Zane's creative practice since the beginning. What started as necessity at Rob Roy, learning to shoot because there was no budget to hire anyone else, became a discipline that now runs through everything he does. He works as director, producer, and at times the photographer or cinematographer behind the camera, depending on what each project calls for. The body of work spans cocktail and product photography, event documentation, brand campaigns, editorial, mini documentaries that profile artists in their own voice, content and edutainment videos, and live streamed and hosted online events. Some of the work he shoots himself. Some he directs and produces with collaborators behind the lens. The work has appeared in Esquire, GQ, Imbibe, Forbes, and Newsweek among others, and across campaigns for brands including Riedel, The Cup Bearer, and Sire Spirits.
The unifying eye is consistent across all of it: precise without being sterile, atmospheric without sacrificing clarity. The same sensibility that went into designing the DSG glassware goes into every frame, whether Zane is the one releasing the shutter or directing the person who is.
