Executive Creative Director & Designer in spirits and luxury

About
Zane
I opened my first bar in Seattle at 24 with limited capital and no real plan beyond making it work. What followed was a crash course in everything: photography, graphic design, video, marketing, brand building, and business development. All of it out of necessity. That period gave me a toolkit I have used every day since, and a habit of looking for what is missing before anyone else has named it. That instinct has driven most of what I am known for.
In 2007 I helped start the large-format ice movement, now a standard in world-class bars everywhere. It was not about ice. It was about finding a differentiator in a crowded market and using it to open doors. The doors it opened led to New York, to the Milk & Honey family of bars, and eventually to a career built at the intersection of spirits, luxury, and design.
in 2013, I led beverage programs at The McKittrick Hotel, the immersive Manhattan venue that houses Sleep No More, The Heath, and Gallow Green. The work demanded a constant blending of theatrical world building, hospitality craft, and operational precision, and it shaped the way I have approached experiential work ever since.
Around the same time I began collaborating with Lucent Dossier Experience, the Los Angeles based experiential circus and performance troupe, conceptualizing acts, fabricating set pieces and props, and performing on stage as part of their productions. Both relationships taught me that the best experiential work is built, not just commissioned.
In 2016 at Southern Glazer's, the largest wine and spirits distributor in the United States, I turned a single consultant role into a 50-person national department and tripled managed portfolio revenue. The model built in New York became the template used across every major US market.
In 2017 I walked into a room with Georg Riedel, the 10th-generation president of one of the most respected names in glassware, and presented a concept his company had never considered in 270+ years of business: glasses designed specifically for bartenders. That became the Drink Specific Glassware line, one of the most successful launches in Riedel's history. A second collection, BAR Rituals, designed for interior designers and architects, launched in Spring 2026.
I have led creative for Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Sire Spirits, overseeing three product launches and a multinational partnership with Coca-Cola that connected federal agricultural policy, a celebrity investor's civic agenda, and a state's economy into a single deal.
I have served as Chief Creative Operator at The Cup Bearer, working with clients including Prada, Rolex, Van Cleef & Arpels, Hennessy, Macallan, Meta, and Veuve Clicquot on experiential events ranging from intimate private experiences to productions of 10,000 guests. I now sit on their board in an advisory capacity.
The through-line across all of it is the same thing it has always been: see the gap, build the thing, and make sure everyone in the room wins.
